Madog’s Wells is situated in eight acres of beautiful countryside with woodland walks all around, plenty of wildlife and is ideal for bird-watching, walking or touring Mid Wales. You can watch the birds from your breakfast table. All our self-catering units contain ample cooking utensils, china, cutlery, flat-screen Sky free sat TV, DVD players, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and first aid kits. All heating, bedding, linen, some towels, tea towels and utilities are included in the prices.

We have three wheelchair accessible bungalows with covered porches with either 2 or 3 bedrooms,  car parking directly outside to 1:12 ramp access with handrails.  All internal doors are 2’9” (840mm) and the windows are lowered so that our guests can see out.  No steps, all level, and all have smooth carpets.  Sockets and rocker light switches are approx. 1200mm above floor level. 

All 3 properties have a shower room with wheel in shower, an accessible sink with space underneath for a wheelchair user, plenty of grab rails and an emergency pull cord

We have bed-guards and bed-blocks available for some of the beds, a wheeled shower chair/commode with removable arms, and a freestanding toilet frame, plus chair-blocks and a ‘percher’ chair available for guests to use.  We have a small hoist available

This comfortable self-catering holiday cottage is tucked away in the south of Snowdonia National Park, near Machynlleth and Aberdyfi and overlooking the beautiful Dyfi Valley and estuary. It has 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, has wheelchair access and pets are welcome.  Regular visitors include walkers, cyclists, families with small children, birdwatchers and others who enjoy the peaceful environment. It is within easy reach of nature reserves, picturesque mountains, sandy coastline, clean rivers and green hillsides: this is a haven where you can really get away from it all.

The whole of the ground floor of Yr Hen Stablau is wheelchair accessible, and the doors are all 800mm wide or wider. All doors open 90° back or further and all rooms are laid out to have clear wheelchair entrance, as tested by the many wheelchair visitors here since we opened in 2006. All doors to the outside have low kleertred sills for easy wheeling.

We can arrange free transport on arrival from the railway and bus stations in Machynlleth and help carrying luggage on request.

On the ground floor are a double or twin bedroom, shower room and toilet , sitting room, kitchen/ dining room and hall.  There is wheelchair access to the terraces front and back, which are very popular for birdwatching, sitting in the sun and eating outside. There is a mobile hoist available on request, ramp for the toilet, risers for beds and chairs, and an armchair commode, all free of charge.

The shower room has roll-in shower, hand basin, WC, grab rails, lever taps, shower stool and plastic chair, and underfloor heating.

All door handles are disability friendly, the basins and kitchen sink have lever taps, and the colour scheme is planned for good visibility of doors, windows, handles, floors, worktops and cupboards. The cottage is light with plenty of windows, skylights and lights inside and out. There is a radio, CD player, satellite digital TV with Freeview and DVD player, and free Wifi.
