Situated at the foot of the iconic Eildon Hills in Melrose, our six holiday cottages are stylish, comfortable and fully equipped to ensure a wonderful Scottish holiday. Five of our cottages are fully wheelchair accessible and all are dog friendly. The perfect romantic escape or a place for larger gatherings of families and friends to come together, our holiday cottages are an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Scottish Borders.

Five of our six disabled friendly holiday homes are graded Category 1 – the best possible Tourist Board grading for wheelchair accessibility. This means that disabled guests can holiday alone independently, with family and friends, or with professional carers living in the cottage to provide the necessary support. All shower rooms and bathrooms have grab rails and let-down rails beside toilets. There is also ample space for side-loading onto toilets.

Eildon Melrose Holiday Cottages are designed to provide disabled friendly holidays where disabled and severely disabled people can enjoy a wonderful holiday in the Scottish Borders. The strength of the complex is that able-bodied and disabled guests can holiday together without differentiation.

Three of our cottages have wetroom showers with a choice of different shower chairs. Two of the cottages have a downstairs bedroom with a ceiling track hoist running from the bed into the bathroom. Langrig which sleeps 6 has a wet room with a level access shower and Single Tree Cottage which sleeps 4 has a bath accessible via the ceiling hoist. There’s a range of disability equipment that guests can use including a shower chair and an electric profiling bed. Open plan lounge and fully equipped accessible kitchen/diner.

  • Electric profiling beds can be set up if required in 4 of the cottages
  • A range of shower chairs and a portable hoist can be provided if required

  • Sitting room has a flat screen TV, DVD player and a fire
  • A riser / recliner arm chair can be provided for a small fee
  • Fully accessible kitchen with lowered oven, space under the hob and sink
  • Kitchen with fridge / freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob and kettle
  • Communal laundry with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board
  • Accessible gardens with furniture, Gas and charcoal BBQ’s available
  • Assistance dogs and pets are welcome
  • Bed linen and towels provided
