Redlands is a beautifully converted stone barn, set in a quiet hamlet at the base of the Quantock Hills. This former family home has been sympathetically modified to allow wheelchair accessible holidays in this stunning region of Somerset.

The ground floor is spacious and light which allows for plenty of room to socialise or separate areas where you can tuck yourself away. The large kitchen has plenty of space for cooking and baking. It is well equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer.  The separate lounge has a rise/recline chair and a wood burning stove. Upstairs are two further bedrooms. The master suite has a king sized bed, dressing table and dual aspect windows. The large en-suite has a bath and separate shower. The second bedroom can be a twin or king sized, it also has dual aspect windows and an en-suite bathroom with over bath shower.

The property sleeps six with the accessible twin bedroom on the ground floor. It has a single-track ceiling hoist over the profiling bed and there is a further single track ceiling hoist over the toilet in the en-suite wet room.

At the front of the property is patio area which can be accessed for wheelchair users via the front door.  Behind the house is a large private garden area and two further patios. The garden and conservatory can be accessed by wheelchairs via the front door and a path outside. The conservatory is accessed inside the house via 7 stairs. The garden has many areas where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside and views of the Quantock hills.

This traditionally styled log cabin, with extensive views of the delightful Yarty valley, was purpose built to provide self-catering holiday accommodation for both able-bodied and disabled people, and sleeps up to twelve people. It is very wheel-chair friendly and has two of the three double bedrooms on the ground floor and a large ground floor WC/shower-room. 

Some of the accessible features include ground floor bedrooms, electric profiling beds, A large wet room with a level access shower, high level sockets & low level switches, kitchen sink and hob providing under access & raised fridge and dishwasher. A portable electric hoist and shower chair/commode are available for guest to use at no extra cost. The Kitchen and breakfast-room provide all the easy to use appliances that the holiday maker expects. Open stairs in the lounge area provide access to the loft where the other bedroom is situated. All bedrooms are en suite. All rooms have under floor heating which is included in cost as are a basket of logs for the wood-burner.

Welcome to the Big Tin Barn, a fully accessible luxury holiday retreat near the 3 counties border of Somerset, Devon, and Dorset. Our focus is on providing a peaceful sanctuary for individuals with disabilities and complex care needs, as well as their families and caregivers.

Inside the Big Tin Barn you’ll find three spacious bedrooms accommodating up to 6 guests, each meticulously designed for comfort and accessibility. High-quality adaptations include a ceiling track hoist, a fully accessible bath/shower room with a height-adjustable bath and wash-dry toilet with rise-and-fall sink, 1 bedroom with 2 profiling beds and a user-friendly rise-and-fall kitchen. The property has underfloor heating throughout and is a home away from home for all.

Fully accessible ground floor living area, with lots of space and decorated to a high standard throughout. Doors open to a patio with garden furniture and barbecue area, with a further section of covered seating. Upstairs there is a second large sitting room with balcony and a further bedroom, which can be hired at extra cost with one king size and one single bed. Double doors open to a Juliette balcony.
