Bramwood is a self-catering bungalow on the Gower Peninsula near Swansea in South Wales that can sleep up to 9 people in 5 bedrooms. It has been re-designed as an accessible holiday destination for disabled families seeking a quiet get-away in a beautiful location close to the stunning Rhossili Bay and the city of Swansea. It’s situated down a peaceful, quiet tree lined lane in the hamlet of Pitton on the slopes of Rhossili Downs.

One of the bedrooms and its en-suite has been comprehensively adapted to enable a guest in a wheelchair or limited mobility to stay in comfort and the property was designed to meet the needs of a wheelchair user. This means that disabled guests can move easily around the property both in and outside.

The bathroom has a bath; fitted with a hand held shower, and a Gerberit Aqua Clean 8000+ Care toilet with a wheeled Osprey commode/shower chair over. It has tiled anti-slip flooring.

The accessible bedroom is next to the sitting room and has similar wheelchair accessible sliding doors onto the terrace, and is a bright airy room. This bedroom is equipped with an ArjoHuntleigh Minuet profiling electric bed with a Hi-Visc mattress. There is an ArjoHuntleigh Maxi Sky 2 tracking ceiling hoist system that can transport the guest into the bathroom, and into the bath. The ceiling hoist is fitted with the clip type fitting and we have both dressing slings and bathing slings available in the house. If you have Oxford type slings let us know, and we can change our spreader bar to accommodate your slings.

The L-shaped kitchen/ diner is a great place to socialize whilst you prepare dinner. The well-appointed kitchen is fully fitted with an Aga Rayburn cooker/boiler, which also provides the hot water and heating.

The comfortable sitting room with its oak flooring and log burner has been arranged to allow wheelchair access and is an appealing bright room overlooking the terrace that you can access through double sliding doors. The terrace has patio furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining.

Always contact the owner of the property before you make a firm booking to ensure all equipment listed can still be provided and is in working order. ALWAYS remember to take your own sling with you in order to use the hoist, most places DO NOT provide slings.
