Crystal Adaptive – holidays for independent, disabled skiers

Booking a holiday with us is easy – and that goes for everyone. We know that all you want to do is just hit the slopes and have fun with your family and friends, so that’s why, with Crystal Adaptive, we make it simple. We offer knowledgeable recommendations and a bit of extra support, so you can spend your holiday enjoying yourself. When you’re ready to book, the Crystal Adaptive team will be on hand to provide you with any extra information you need, and to request rooms, plus any equipment and lessons. Flights, transfers and accommodation are included as standard with all of our holidays. We’ll even arrange special assistance at the airport and adaptive transfers if needed. All adaptive holidays need to be booked over the phone or via email with someone from our Crystal Adaptive team.
We have a minimum requirement of adaptations in order to call an accommodation ‘wheelchair accessible’. However, we know from what our customers have told us over the years that not all disabilities require all adaptations to be made. Therefore, the accommodations which don’t have the minimum number are grouped in our ‘partially adapted’ programme. If you don’t need an adapted hotel, but you do need adaptive ski school, then take a look at our full range of accommodation in Arinsal, Beitostølen, La Plagne, Soldeu, Val Thorens and Whistler. Please note that these holidays should still be booked through the Crystal Adaptive team. This is so that we can check availability of the ski school, whether they have suitable instructors for you and any other requirements you may have.

Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK) is the UK’s leading snowsport charity. We have been teaching disabled people to ski and snowboard for over forty years. DSUK believe that taking part in adaptive snowsport has the power to transform a person’s relationship with not just their disability, but with all aspects of their lives. We believe that all people have the right to access the unique physical, mental, and social benefits of snowsport, regardless of disability, injury, or experience.
We operate ski schools at various locations throughout the UK as well as delivering opportunities to ski and snowboard in a mountain environment worldwide. We are supported by a fantastic team of highly-qualified adaptive instructors as well as a brilliant network of passionate and skilled volunteers. Together, we work to ensure that everybody has the opportunity to access snowsport. Usually we will provide holidays from January through to April. We have listened to what you said you’d like and as well as visiting our favourite resorts, we have also added some new destinations.
We work closely with Crystal Ski to offer a wide range of destinations which provide accessible accommodation and facilities wherever possible. Everybody who attends a DSUK Adaptive Snowsport Holiday must be a current member of the charity. The holiday price includes a transfer from the destination airport to your hotel, we have accessible transfers available on most trips. If you are able to travel independently (or with your carer/family/friends) it may be possible to fly from an airport nearer to you.
In an effort to keep holidays as affordable as possible, we offer shared accommodation as standard. This means that if you are travelling on your own, you will share a twin room with other skiers and snowboarders. Family rooms or single occupancy room are available at some hotels, these will incur a supplement and are not guaranteed until we have received confirmation from the resort. Our DSUK Helpers are unable to provide any form of personal care. They are very happy to help out at the breakfast buffet, help with your snowboots, guide/assist around the resort etc. However they are not professional carers.
